Our Monster of a History
1995 – 2008 | Monster Plumbing
Once upon a time (in 1995, to be exact), Monster Plumbing was born. By 2008, it got its claws into the Cape Town market with a rebrand, and the iconic monster mascot quickly became a beloved character and a trusted symbol of plumbing excellence.
2009 | Monster Plumbing College
But even monsters know you cannot conquer the plumbing world alone. In 2009, Monster Plumbing College was launched to train a new generation of plumbers to carry the torch of our high standards. This was our response to the general decline in the knowledge and quality of plumbing as well as the supply of excellent plumbing training that we had observed. Over time, this resulted in a critical shortage of high-level technical plumbing skills in South Africa.
2016 | Nomanzi Trade College & Newgen Trade Schools
Soon after, this vision grew into two additional training institutions:
- Newgen Trade Schools, helping young artisans kick-start their careers with NQF Level 4-aligned training.
- Nomanzi Trade School, assisting skilled tradespeople in earning their trade test certificates.
2022 | Monster Electrical
Just when you thought the family couldn’t get any bigger, Monster Electrical joined the crew in 2022 to add expert electrical services to the mix.
2024 | Monster Plumbing College
Monsters need makeovers occasionally, so in 2024, we gave our mascot a fresh, modern look to keep up with the times. While our little monster has evolved, our commitment to quality plumbing work, innovation, and training excellence remains stronger than ever.
